The best-selling book ‘Emotional Intelligence 2.0’ by Bradberry and Greaves defines EI as “your ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships.”
This training was in response to the fact that leaders are asked to balance the work that needs to be done and the people who need to do it. “Hard skills” are often defined as the technical day-to-day knowledge to complete a job and get the work done. The “soft skills” are often defined as the communication used to get the job done.
By using the book as a framework, an eight-hour course was created to address the dual need of talking to people better in order to get better results.
Learning Objectives:
Personal Competencies - Understand and manage self before understanding others.
Social Competencies - Pushes learners to discover how to read other people's emotions to build better relationships
